Our Patient: The Interview
Our 39-Year-old Female with a history of several previous orthodontic treatments. Including labial and lingual bracing was unhappy with her smile, bite and felt the upper right teeth were ‘dipping in’ .
Why did you choose e-LINE?
I was always unhappy with the way my felt and looked, they didn’t fit together at the back and were always uncomfortable. I was always very self-conscious with my un-even smile. I had been to a couple of other Orthodontists who said there was nothing they could do and to just leave it and that left me very frustrated. All I ever wanted was a wide and even smile.
What took place at your initial consultation?
We discussed what I hoped to achieve, what was possible and the types of treatment that would involve. I felt very comfortable, and everything was explained very clearly so that my expectations were managed. With an emphasis on good communication and prevention, new generations of dentists are connecting with patients in a way that positively reinforces dental education and encourages patients to be actively involved in their own dental health.
How did the appliances/braces feel?
I got used to the braces very quickly and just had to be extra careful with hygiene. I made sure I always had a toothbrush with me to use after eating.
What advice would you give someone who might be hesitant in having orthodontic treatment?
Just go for it! So many adults have orthodontics done and lots of my friends had braces following mine. The feeling of how good your smile looks is so worth it!
